This intense course takes runners through an urban environment with a post-apocalyptic setting— down city streets, through alleys, parking garages and warehouses. Participants of the 5K run are required to register as either a “zombie” or a “survivor” and encouraged to dress accordingly for the run. Survivors get a 1 minute head start!
We need Volunteers to help run this event and Sponsors to keep it going! If you would like to Volunteer for the Zombie Crawl & 5K please complete the Volunteer Form and return it to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have a Zombie Killing Machine worthy of the upcoming apocalypse, bring it down and show it off! Registrations are limited!
What if it rains?
Events will go on rain or shine!
I'm not in shape can I do this?
The 5K is considered a "fun run" and the level of competition is purely up to you. We will have some obstacles which you can choose to skip.
How much is it to just watch?
FREE! Check our course map and pull up a chair to watch along the route.
Is there entertainment?
Have you been living under a rock?! T-Dog from the Walking Dead will be there, signing autographs, taking pictures and offering zombie-dispensing advice! There will also be live music provided by American Aquarium
Who will benefit from the race?
All proceeds stay local and benefit our community- American Red Cross of North Texas and Downtown Wichita Falls Development.
Is there an age limit?
No age limit, but please remember the environment and theatrical costumes can seem "real". If your child is capable of enjoying a haunted house they will be fine.
Will there be a place to store my stuff?
Yes, we will have a Bag Check at the Farmers Market.
What about refunds?
This is a charity event and there are no refunds, but you can transfer your registration to someone else. Please contact us by October 25th.
What does Registration cover?
Registration for the 5K covers your entry to the run, plus you will receive a commemorative drawstring race bag. Free water will be given to all 5K participants.
What do I need to bring?
Runners who pick up their race packets at Early Packet Pick-Up only need to show up before the race start. Runners can pick up their packet at the event from 4:00-7:00pm. Since the run is at night we advise you bring a headlamp or small flashlight to increase visibility.
What do I wear?
Costumes are optional, but encouraged. Runners are required to be on team "Zombie" or "Survivor". Have fun with this! How often do you get the chance to run around and scare people?
Can I bring a stroller?
Use your discretion. We will not turn away strollers, but some of the course terrain is uneven.
Can I bring my dog?
No. Dogs attract too much attention from passing zombies. Plus, the Farmers’ Market has a strict NO PET Policy due to health code regulations. Please leave your pets at home for the 5K Run, as we aim to keep the race safe & enjoyable for all participants.
I like to knit zombie sweaters in my free time, can I sell them there?
We are always looking for food and specialty vendors. Contact the office for a vendor form!
